Abstract:
T his paper deals w ith a new method for the direct preparat ion o f ult raf ine RDX cry stals. During the pr ocess RDX is dissolv ed in HNO3 ( 98 % ) and tr eated w ith w ater at the temperature f rom 0℃ and 50℃, and the desired f ine and ult rapure RDX cr ystals are precipitated. By use of the so lvent ( 98 % HN O3 ) / no n-solvent ( H2O ) precipitat ion technique, 50 g scale experiment s w ere conducted in the laboratory . According to the crystall izat ion condit io n chosen, ul tr af ine RDX cry stals with 5~7 μm median part icle diameter are prepared by this method. Special at tent io n w as paid to the study of the process conditio ns af fect ing the g ranularity of the ultr af ine RDX crystals such as the crystal lization temperatur e, st ir ring speed, concent rat ion of the so lut ion and the amount o f dilut io n w ater.
