Abstract:
In this paper , the ext raction mechanism and equilibrium time of iron from dilute sulfuric acid s olution by mono-( 2-ethylhexyl) alkyl phosphoric acid ( AEHPA) were inves tigated, the molecular st ructure of complexes of iron w ere deduced according to the ult ra-violet and infra-red spect ral study. T he results show that the ext raction mechanism of iron is related to its ex ist ing f orms in solut ion, there are two kinds of extract ion mechanism at pH< 1. 5 and iron ion concent rat ion< 0. 01 mol/ L, Fe 3+ and Fe(SO4) - 2 participat e in ex tract ion process , their ext ract ion equilibrium time being approximately 10 min and 120 min respect ively . On the basis of abovement ioned mechanism study, the reason why the ex tract ion euqilibrium t ime is long f or the extract ion of iron f rom dilut e sulfuric acid solut ion by AEHPA was analys ed and dis cuss ed.
