Abstract:
T he influence of mino r addit ion ( 0. 05 % ~0. 50 % , mass % ) of mischmetal on cast str ucture and hardness of Al-7Si-4Cu allo y is studied by using metallo gr aphic analysis,elect ronmicro scope and thermal analysis. T he resul ts reveal that the solidificat ion rate has a not iceable inf luence on the ef fect of mo dification o f r ar e earth on eutect ic Si phase. Rare ear th can decrease the A( Al) secondary dendrite arm spacing s and increase the cast hardness o f this alloy . Minor additoin o f rare earth is rich in α( Al ) -Si interface, but minimal in α( Al) -Al 2Cu interface. Experiment s show the possibility to make the proport ion of fine ( A + Si+ Al2Cu) eutect ic decrease and the proport ion of block-lke Al2Cu phase increase.
