Abstract:
In this paper the boundary element metho d is used to compute st ress dist ribut ion in w eapon component s: the breech and the ex t ractor . Based o n the computat ion result s and photoelasticity tests, analy sis is car ried out to ex amine the pro blem o f st ress concent rat ion at the f il leted angles of the two of the components. T hen the measures to reduce the st ress concentrat ion ar e proposed. The results of analysis show that the more reasonable st ructur al form can reduce enormo usly the maximal tang ent ial tensile st ress in st ress co ncent rat io n area, and this is verified by the exper iment .
