Abstract:
Accor ding to complex pr opellant charge const ruct ion in the larg e calibre how itzer , a f low r eg io n in a g un is divided into 4 reg io ns: burning gases, st ick propel lant s, gr ain propellant s in main bag and gr ain propellant s in addit ional bag. T he conservat io n equat ions of mass, momentum and energ y are derived in each region, and mult i-phase flow interior ballistic models are established. Against the engineering backgr ound, the project ile mov ement acceleratio n in a lar ge calibre howit zer is pr edicted by numerical simulat ion, w hich of fers the oret ical g uide fo r project ile design. The computed result is in go od agreement w ith ex perimental result s. Numerical predict io n describes the interior ballist ic cir culatio n in detail, w hich is o f significance in charge design and tube desig n.
