Abstract:
By launching a special ly designed vessel f illed w ith granular propellant s by a hig h-low pressur e g un, dynamic g rain f racture caused by inter granular compression at low temperature is invest igated, and fracture deg ree alo ng w ith interg ranular st ress is also obtained. Based on this, burning process in hig hly loaded pro pellant beds at low temper ature is numerically simulated consider ing different break-up part icleps conservat ion. A comparison is made betw een both considering and not consider ing f racture. T he burning phenomena of broken propellant s is like that o f DDT . It plays an impo rtant role in invest igat ing the abnormal pressure in high pressure guns.
