Abstract:
In this paper, several methods for measuring the muzzle flash are briefly summarized, and problems ex ist ing in using these metho ds are sy stemat ically analysed. By analo gy w ith the metho d o f muzzle no ise measurement , reaso nable index es for assessing the size and intensity of muzzle f lash are put fo rw ard. Based on these index es, an effect ive muzzle flash luminous f lux measur ement method ( pho to elect ric method) is presented. The oper at ion principle of the photoelect ric method o f muzzle f lash measurement and the co nstr uct io n of the measurement system are described and the feasibility o f this metho d is pr oved thro ug h firing ex periment s w ith differ ent sort s of w eapons.
