Abstract:
The ef fect of st rain rate o n tensio n propert ies of 8090 Ai-Li al loy has been studied by dynamictensio n test s, the range of str ain rate is fro n 10- 3 S- 1 to 103S- 1. The result s show that the st rength and elongat ion of 8090 Ai-Li alloy increases w ith increase of st rain rate. SEM and T EM analysis finds that fr actures are intercrystalline f ractures on quas-imot ionless state; with increase of str ain rate, f ractures are f ron t ranscrystall ine quasicleavag e fractures to Micr ovoid-coalescence dimple f ratures . T he incr eases o f 8090 Ai-Li alloy ’s st reng th and elongat ion under high st rain rate associate w ith the alloy’s deformat ion mechanism and change of gr ain boundary’s PFZ( Precipitat ion Free Zone) .
