Abstract:
The disadvantage of the t radit ional texture-mapping method for the sphere mapping is analy zed in this paper. A new method is presented based on the perspect ive t ransformat ion theory to implement the sphere-mapping. T herefore the aliasing problem at the pole of the sphere is solved. T his method can also be applied to the other unex pandable surface mapping and polyhedral object mapping w ith single texture.
