Abstract:
In a pilotOscale wettedOw all column, the rate of gas and liquid phase mass t ransfer w as investigated by using SO2/ NaOH and Air/H2O react ion systems at 50 ℃ and high Reynolds numbers. The experimental results show that in g as phase Reynolds numbers ( ReG ) range f rom 7 600 to 13 500 and liquid phase Reynolds numbers ( ReL ) from 4 700 to 12 000, g as phase Sherw ood number ( Sh G ) depends on ReG and ReL raised to the pow er of 1. 04 and the pow er of 0. 207, respectively; liquid phase Sherwood number ( Sh L ) depends on ReG and ReL raised to the power of 0. 64 and the pow er of 0. 438, respect ively. The w aves on the liquid film at high Reynolds numbers increase interfacial area and turbulence, and lead to increasing mass t ransfer coeff icients of gas phase and liquid phase.
