Abstract:
The recog nition of meteorological satellite cloud pictures is mainly concent rated on the tex ture analysis of the image. The imag e tex ture includes not only the gray information, but also the construction information. On the basis of the concept of fractal and fractal dimension proposed by Mandelbrot in 70’s, the analysis of image texture indicated that f ractal dimension is the measurement of complex ity and roughness of imag e tex ture. The author used the fractal dimension method to calculate the tex ture fractal characterist ics of meteorological cloud pictures w ith the methods of Sarkar and Chaudhuri.
