Abstract:
This paper present s a new method for the automatic modulat ion recognit ion of dig ital communicat ion signals. Dif ferent ty pes of modulated sig nals that have ident ical pow er spect ral density functions can have highly dist inct spect ral correlation funct ions. The different spect ral correlat ion funct ion characterist ic can be used to classify modulated signals, even w hen the signals are buried in no ise. Computer simulations for different types of dig ital communicat ion signal corrupted by Gaussian noise have been carried out . It is found that all modulation types of interest have been classified w ith success rate ≥90 % at S NR = 5 dB.
