Abstract:
Gun barrel erosion can be def ined as the gradual changes in barrel dimensions. Erosion is the result of the combined of thermal, mechanical and chemical processes, the chief factor of w hich is thermal. In this paper, three gun barrel structures are chosen. T he model of calculating temperature dist ribut ion of gun barrel during f iring using finite difference method is established. When parameters concerned have been determined, the temperature distribut ion of three st ructures in the same standard of f iring are calculated. The ef fect of material property on temperature is discussed. The calculat ion results are valuable for the further study on the st ructure of gun barrel.
