Abstract:
The 7 1 2 shot s and the w ad muzzle f ly ing status of a shotgun shell from a full choked and a cylinder choked 12 caliber barrel w ill be studied by use of high speed photography in this paper. The results indicated that the init ial flying speed of the shot s is about 500 m/ s. When the shot s are out of the barrel, the distances betw een shots w ill gradually increase along w ith the shots flying farther f rom the muzzle, and the shot s scattering deg ree in the f ly ing d-i rect ion w ill be far greater than the shots scat tering degree in the lateral direct ion. For shots w ith the same density and mass, the larger the taper of the choke, the greater the influence of the w ad on the shot s dispersion.
