Abstract:
A highly efficient corrosion and scale inhibitor, especially for a heat pow er plant cooling w ater w ith hig h concent rat ion of hardness and alkalinity in Shandong province, was proposed in this paper. The chemicals are mixtures of f ive components that include PBTC, AMPS copolymers, zinc and a copper corrosion inhibitor. The detailed study reveals that the static scale inhibit ion is over 80 %, the corrosion inhibit ion on Ae steel, copper, brass and stainless steel are 98.5 % , 99.4, 98.8 and 99.5 % repectively at the desage of 40 mg/ L( against the make up w ater) and the cycle of concent rat ion of k = 2.5. It can also be found that the chemicals are good in heat stability and in maintain zinc even though at a pH high as 9. 5.
