Abstract:
In this paper, bactericidal performance of glutaraldehyde ( GA) w as studied in detail as one kind of w atert reatment bactericides at various concent rat ions, pH values, inorganic cat ions and bacterial species respectively. At the same t ime, its corrosion behavior and comparat ivity w ere tested. Besides, the bactericidal mechanism of GA w as further invest igated. T he ex perimental result s show that GA is a bet ter bactericide with broad and high bactericidal eff iciency, low corrosion rate and good comparativity. The study of mechanism proves that interact ion w ith cell w all pept idoglycan is the main cause.
