Abstract:
It is dif ficult to analyze the reliability of fatigue fracture of practical structure by using tradit ional reliability theory to calculate the reliability and the failure probability. Because it is affected by many uncertain factors, the probability dist ribution of each state variable can. t be got ten. In this paper, a practical example is g iven to illust rate that, in pract ice, the ef fect of all kinds of abnormal random variables on crack extension, such as the load, the primary f racture, the fracture toughness of the material, and so on, can be taken into account simultaneously using checking comput ing dot ( JC) method. When the mean value and square error of each random variable are know n, the reliability index and the failure probability value can be easily ca-l culated. T his method is suited for study ing the reliability and fat ig ue life in fatigue f racture breakag e.
