Abstract:
T his paper presents a new numerical method on the calculat ion of blast w aves w ith mult-i species gas based on the orig inal TVD scheme . The state equat ion for mixture gas is established and eigenvalues and eig envector mat rices are also g iven. Numerical results on the blast waves generated by burst ing spheres obtained by T VD method in Euler system are more reasonable than those by von Neumann-Richtmyer scheme w ith art if icial viscosity in Lagrang ian coordinates and by shock wave recovery method. The drawbacks of low er or higher overpressure value in far-field given by the above two methods are w ell overcome by the present method. The flow characterist ics of ideal blast w ave are more accurately described. Moreover, the problem of mult-i species w ith vary ing g amma in Euler coordinates is also solved.
