Abstract:
Convent ional aerostat ic bearing s have the problems of vibrations and mot ion inaccuracy due to the low st if fness. To overcome these problems, authors propose a control scheme of act ive control acrostat ic bearing. T his new type of bearing is composed of noncontact sensors to detect the radial displacement of it s ax is, control valve to drive the ax is and a cont roller to regulate the w hole system. When radial load is applied, the act ive bearing can surpress the displacement of the shaft , thus obtaining an inf inite st iffness. T hree kinds of control w ays are presented, and corresponding numerical values of infinite st iffness are given.
