Abstract:
The governing equat ions are the Reynolels-averaged Navier - Stokes equations, and k- ε model is adopted for turbulence flow . T he numerical scheme is second order w indw ard scheme. T he characterist ics of flow f ield in three kinds of contract ion-ex tension-duct are invest-i g ated by a numerical method. Results suggest that nozzle eff iciency decreases because of round tube exist ing at the back of nozzle, and the speed of gas decreases and the pressure increases w hen gas spurt out f rom round tube. The study indicates that lost thrust force can be decreased if the pressure increases and areas in nozzle ex it decrease by adjust ing the g eomet ry shape of nozzle and decreasing expansion rat io.
