Abstract:
Synthesis w as reported of isopropyl chloroacetate with dif ferent catalyst s under microw ave irradiat ion and the result s are compared w ith those from t radit ional method. The experiment results showed that the rates of the react ion under microw ave irradiat ion and catalysis by FeCl3 w ere much higher than thise of traditional method. T hrough react ing 1h , the yield of isopropyl chloroacetate was 77. 7 % , and the product was colorless and transparent . But under microw ave irradiation, the cataly tic act ivity of SnCl4 w as much lower than that of FeCl3. In addit ion, the mechanism of promot ion of react ion rates under microw ave irradiat ion and the presence of appropriate catalyst had also been studied.
