Abstract:
In a tool manag ement system for a FMS, the advantage and disadvantage of tool allocat ion strategy influences the manufacturing eff iciency. A new tool allocat ion strategy integ rat ing Group Technology and virtual tool mat rix st rategy is put forw ard in order to reduce the quantity of tools in the system, to debase the f requency of tool transported betw een the cells. Finally, the procreative cost is debased. On the basis of procreat ive plan of FMS and circumstance of the tools used, the genet ic algorithms is used, and the final matrix st ructured on the best of part s list and tools list is educed. At last, a group of part s and the aggregate of corresponding tools are elicited. The condit ion is of fered to opt imize dispatching tools. T he problem about tool allocat ion is w ell solved in FMS.
