Abstract:
How to resolve the Helmholtz equat ion of piecew ise medium is studied by using the boundary element method. T he main idea of resolving the boundary element method is that it regards the common boundary of the piecew ise medium sub-area as the ex terior boundary. In every sub-area, it uses the boundary element method, and adds some common connect ive condi- t ions on the common boundary. Based on a g reat deal of numerical experiments, the ef fects of resolving the boundary element method, the finite element method and the g eneralized dif fer- ence method are cont rasted. It is concluded that the boundary element method can overcome the oscillat ion of the solut ion of the Helmholtz equation perfectly and has bet ter stability and hig her accuracy .
