Abstract:
T he ex plorat ion of the dynamic buckling is helpful to const itute an ant i-ex plosion st ructure. In the experiment by dropping a hammer, ext raordinary buckling pat terns occur to the thin-w all cylindrical shells. With the increase of the ratio of diameter to thickness, the number of the edges of a folded part increases w ith t ransit ion zones. By analyzing the energy-ab sorbing features, it is found that w ith the thickness unchanged, the amount absorbed is propor t ional to the diameter of the cylindrical shells.
