Abstract:
During the transformation to zeolites on porous ceramic, silica g el w as decomposed into soluble silicate ions by inorganic base, and then w as induced to form zeolitic framew ork by organic amine. Such an experimental result indicated that crystallizat ion in this system w as proceeded by a liquid-t ransformat ion mechanism. Heterogeneous nucleat ion on the surface of silica gel w as thermodynamically preferent ial to the homogeneous nucleat ion in the liquid phase and resulted in an in situ transformation, w hich w as usually the feature of solid-transformat ion mechanism.
