Abstract:
The conducting polymer polypyrrole/ PSS is electrochemically deposited onto the electrodes of silicon neural probes. SEM showed that the surface morphology of the coating is cauliflower with high roughness. Nanoindetation is used to test the mechanical property of the coating. The average reducedmodulus of the coating is 1. 3GPa and it formes an intermediate layer onmechanical property which diminishes a large difference between the probe ( E = 172 GPa ) and brain tissue ( E = 100 KPa .
