Abstract:
The ef fects of nanoscale ox ide coat ings on interfacial propert ies and resistance thermal property of carbon f iber / epox y composites w ere studied in this paper. The alumina and yitt ra stabilized zirconia ( YSZ) coat ings on the surface of carbon fiber w ere prepared by sol- g el method. The part icle sizes of coat ings observed by TEM were about 10 nm. Studies on the dynamic properties of coated-and-uncoated carbon f iber/ epoxy composites showed that the ILSS of Al2O3-coated and YSZ-coated carbon fiber / epoxy composites increased by 17. 7 % and 52. 0 %, respectively, and stretching and bending st rength increased slight ly. The ox ide loss w eight rates of coated composites obviously decreased in the range of 350 ℃ and 700 ℃ .
