A method is given to describe the heart mot ion on the tagged mag net ic resonance images from a lef t ventricle dig ital simulator. Using a tensor product of bicubic B-splines, this paper represents tag planes in tw o orthogonal orientat ions intersecting the short-ax is image slices and tag planes in an orientat ion oryhogonal to the short-ax is tag planes intersect ing long-ax is image slices exhibited sub-pix el accuracy. This method is ef ficient so that the 3D motion of tagged point s can be measured and the motion deformation of lef t ventricle can be t racked.
