Abstract:
Thermal decomposition and thermal stability of expanded ammonium nitrate were studied by accelerating rate calorimeter. Temperature, pressure and temperature rise versus time curves, decomposit ion pressure and temperature rise versus temperature curves were obtained respectively. Thermal decomposition results were analyzed, and kinetics parameters such as apparent act ivat ion energy, pre-exponential factor and reaction heat were calculated. The results show that the expanded ammonium n-i trate is one of the better thermal stable industrial explosive oxidizers.
