Abstract:
W ith respect to an actual exper imen,t finite e lem ent simulat ion using LS-DYNA3D is perfo rmed to invest igate the responce of a ceram ic integral armor pene trated by h igh-ve loc ity long rod of tungsten alloy. The main penetrating patterns are obta ined and discussed. The simulatee l results are in good agreement w ith the experim ental resu lts. It g ives useful insight into the investigat ions on the pro tective composite systems and rod projectiles.
