Abstract:
The characteristics of the granular sludge blanket in EGSB ( expanded granular sludge blanket) reactor for treating sausage wastewater were studied. The optimal range of superficial liquid velocity ( Vup ) was 1160~ 2162 m/ h in the EGSB reactor. With optimal Vup and COD concentration of 5 135. 4~ 5 630. 0mg/ L, the vo-l ume loading rate of 221. 60~ 310. 24 kgCOD/ ( m3?d) and COD removal rate of 82. 6 % were attained. In the operational process, the characteristics of granular sludge changed also. The varieties of microbe became rich, the size of granular sludge was bigger, and the content of the extra-celluar polymer increased.
