Abstract:
The model of flexible multibody dynamics for a gun system on launching was investigated to figure out the dominant effects of mulzzle disturbance, which can provide technical support on reducing the muzzle motion and improving the firing precision. When the virtual prototype of a vehicle mounted howitzer is built , the following factors are considered, including the flexibility of a barrel, rigid connection between moving supports and tube, the contact between moving supports and cradle. Impacts of the guide clearance, the arm of force, the weight of mulzzle brake and the position of supports on muzzle disturbance are retrieved by dynamics simulation.The results provide a technological support for conceptual and detailed design of this weapon system.
