Abstract:
A suggestion is made to so lve the prob lem s by m eans o f integ rated application of such nondeterm in istic approaches as probab ility stat istics theory, structura l re liability principle, asw ell as risk analysis. By means of statistica l inference and hypothesis tes,t a study is made o f the distribut ion regularity and est imate a lgorithm o f such factors causing h igh arch dam failure as flood leve,l seism ic acce leration and material param eters. The occurrence probability o f h igh arch dam failure mode is ca lculated by means of second-momen.t A safe ty eva luation is made to a h igh arch dam by means of bo th determ inist ic and nondeterm inist ic approaches and the comparison show s tha t app lying both fa ilure probab ility and risk va lue to high arch dam safety eva luation is desirable in terms o f both safety and econom ic aspect.
