Abstract:
To study the influence of curvature on the propagation properties of laser-induced Ray- leigh waves on curved surfaces, transient Rayleigh waves are generated by pulse laser action on the surfaces of alum inium cylindersw ith different diameters ( 10mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25mm and 30 mm), and the waveform s are detected by the fiber-coupled beam deflection method. The results show tha:t the velocity of Rayleighwave propagating on cylinder is greater than that in a plate w ith the reduction of the radius of cylinders and the gradual increase of the velocity of Rayleight wave. There exists attenuation in the process of Rayleigh wave propagating on cylinder.
