Abstract:
The def in itions o f concurrent eng ineering ( CE ) and virtual prototyp ing ( VP) are described. By contrast w ith the shortcom ings of trad itional deve lop ing pattern, a concurrent design structure based on CE is introduced to develop sma ll arms. Comb ined w ith VP, the overa ll system structure including dec ision-mak ing layer, w ork layer, env ironmen-t supporting layer is brought forw ard. The w ork flow ofw ork layer ismode led as six steps. The character o f sm all arms system is analyzed, and the imp lem entation method of CE in small arms. w ho le lifecycle is d iscussed. This app licat ion of CE is quite valuab le in design ing andmanu facturing small arms.
