Abstract:
To increase the muzzle ve loc ity of the pro jectile but not them ax imum pressure in bore, a new scheme o f tw o-stage charge for the second propu lsion in bore for large ca liber w eapons is introduced. A new structure o f tw o-stage charge ammun ition is designed. A physica lmodel o f the process of tw o propu lsions is proposed, and a mathem atica lmode o f interio r ballist ics of tw o propu lsions is also established based on a 12. 7mm test gun, w hile general effects of various parameters uponmaximum pressure and muzzle ve loc ity are revealed. The ca lculated resu lts show that the incremental quant ity o f tw o-stage charge ammun ition is tw ice as much as that o f the 12. 7mm common ammun-i t ion common ammun it ion in the same increment of the barre l leng th.
