A frequency-dependent fin ite-difference t ime-doma in ( ( FD) 2TD) a lgorithm is app lied to study the electromagnetic w ave reflect ion coefficient and phase of plasma. The numerica l resu lt is compared w ith analytical so lution. As a resu l,t the ( FD ) 2TD algo rithm is verif ied. A radar cross sect ion ( RCS) o f conduct ing cube w ith the size o f 2. 0 o f inc idence w avelength is ca lculated. The num er ical resu lt is also va lida ted by comparing w ith the data obta ined w ithmoment o fmethod. The RCS of conduct ing cube covered w ith plasma w ith th ickness o f 0. 5, 1. 0 and 2. 0 of inc idence w avelength is calcu lated. The resu lts show that the RCS o f the perfect ly conducting cube scatterer covered w ith plasma decreases. This technology can be used in aircraft stea lthy.
