Abstract:
Th is paper g ives an e ff ic ientmethod to get accurate so lar rad iat ion torquew hen the sate-l lite is on orbi.t The method considers the impact of themutual h id ing of the sate llite body and so lar pane.l The geometrica l ob ject composed w ith satellite body and so lar pane l is transformed by pro ject ion. The hiding is determ ined. The effective area o f so lar rad iation is ca lculated w ith the theory o f comput ing the intersection set of convex polygons and the solar radiation torque is accounted. S imulation ana lysis o f the so lar rad iat ion to rque of a so lar synchronous orbit satellite is performed and the simulation results show tha t the effect of themutual h iding can be om itted if the surface area of the sate llite body is much smaller than that of the so lar pane.l Th is me thod can be genera lized to the computation of the aerodynam ic torquewhen themutua lh id ing o f the sate llite body and so lar panel is considered.
