Abstract:
It is possible to control the flow in the electrolyte solution by Lorentz forces generated by the suitably chosen magnetic and electric fields.Based on electromagnetic equations,the electromagnetic fields induced by a cylindrical actuator in a low-conducting moving electrolyte,the voltage,the magnetic,the intensity of electric field,the intensity of magnetic field and the Lorentz forces are investigated numerically with finite differential algorithm.The distributions are analyzed.The result shows the distribution of the voltage,the magnetic,the intensity of electric field,the intensity of magnetic field and the Lorentz force are periodic in spanwise direction,and are exponential attenuation in normal direction.The wider the actuator is,the slower the attenuation is,and the deeper the effective depth is,the weaker the fluctuation of the Lorentz forces is.
