According to the Maxwell equations and the heat conduction equations,a two-dimensional unsteady computational model is applied to investigate the electromagnetic and temperature fields of the rail and the solid armature.Coupling calculations are carried out by using the P-R finite difference method.The results show the distributions of the magnetic induction intensity,the current density and the temperature.Due to the motion of the armature,a local concentration of current and Joule heating occurs at the rail-armature interface and causes significant erosion and damage.The work has a guiding significance for the armature design,and provides theoretical foundations for avoiding velocity transition and erosion in fast moving armature.
