Abstract:
A new satellite-ground calibration theme is proposed,which is used for the multi-beam planar array antenna transmitting system onboard satellite.Space discrete Fourier transform(DFT) of the orthogonal codes as the calibration test signals are injected into radio frequency(RF) channels after the digital beam-former.By utilizing the receive signals including the calibration test signals transmitted from the active phased array onboard satellite,the calibration factors for all the RF transmitting channels can be simultaneously obtained by parallel signal processing technology at a ground gateway station.The calibration factors are normalized to avoid the effects on the nonlinearity components.The proposed method is validated by using the space DFT of the Walsh codes and m/WH composite codes as the calibration test signals,respectively.The simulation results show that the two methods can calibrate amplitude and phase errors among RF channels without the synchronization error,but for synchronization error,the calibration theme using the composite m/WH codes is more robust.
