Abstract:
In view of the problem that the different coplanar waveguide(CPW) discontinuities must use different field-based equivalent circuits,a single field-based equivalent circuit model for different coplanar waveguide(CPW) discontinuities is constructed by the reinterpretation of moment method(MOM).By applying this equivalent circuit model to CPW discontinuities, such as open-end,step,right-angle bend, and T-junction,the maximum error S-parameters is less than 5% compared with those by IE3D.The average error is less than 2%.The comparison with IE3D shows that the general field-based equivalent circuit model is very accurate and can be widely used for the design of microwave circuits.
