The explosively formed penetrator(EFP) fragment mode is formed by attaching metal bar to the front of a warhead.Through LS-DYNA simulation procedure,the influence of a metal bar on the formation and penetration of EFP fragments is researched,and the effect of the position and framework of a bar on the velocity and spray pattern of EFP fragments is gained.The results show that: when the unit grid’s size of bar is 0.2 times of the charge caliber,and the distance between bar and liner is 1/12 times of the charge caliber,it can form EFP fragments with good velocity and spray pattern.The structure of a metal bar is optimized and tested.The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental data.The result can offer reference for the further study of multimode shaped charge.
