Abstract:
To deal with the angle measurement errors caused by target angle glint,the angle glint suppression capability of a multiple input multiple output(MIMO) radar is studied.The expression of glint probability distribution density is derived based on the target glint model for MIMO radar system.The relationship between the numbers of transmit antennas and the glint suppression performance is discussed.The probability density of angle measurement errors that falls beyond the target region is deduced.Theoretical analysis shows that the more the numbers of radar transmit antennas have the better the glint suppression capability is.With six antennas,the angle glint error can decrease to 25% of the traditional array radars.Being consistent with theoretical analysis,the simulation results show the MIMO radar can be effective in suppressing target glint.
