Abstract:
Numerical simulation of the internal and external flow field in a plasma generator is done.Coupling hydrodynamic equations and maxwell equations are solved by using the method of conservation element and solution element(CE/SE).The variation of the physical parameters inside and outside the plasma generator during the formation of the plasma jet are discussed.Results show that: the temperature and Mach number rise up with the increase of electric currents;the maximum temperature appears around the central axis close to the cathode.The temperature of the plasma jet changes along with time.The internal nozzle and external flow fields influence each other.A high-temperature and high-Mach number area is formed in the jet region obviously.
