Abstract:
A novel spiral-shaped defected ground structure(DGS)is proposed to realize the compact size and controllable stopband of DGS.The slit effect of the proposed DGS pattern is researched,and its parameters are analyzed and optimized.The location of the slit can shift the bandstop frequency without changing the overall size of the DGS.Several slits are added to the spiral-shaped DGS to realize the multi-frequency suppression to increase the stopband width of filters.Two spiral-shaped DGSs with several slits are cascaded and applied in lowpass filter design.The simulation analysis and measured results are in good agreement.The passband insertion loss is less than 1 dB from 0 to 1.8 GHz,while the stopband rejection is more than 20 dB from 2.0 to 3.8 GHz.
