Abstract:
To study the effect of fiber jackets on strains,the strains of tight-jacket fibers and normal fibers are measured under multi-turn long time(48 h)constant tension using Brillouin optical time domain reflectometer(BOTDR).The experimental results show the fiber jacket has some effect on the fiber strain.In the process of the first-round constant tension,the strain of tight-jacket fiber is decreased by 100 με;after being relaxed for 4 days,in the process of the second-round constant tension,the strain of tight-jacket fiber is decreased by 50 με;after being relaxed for 8 days;in the process of the third-round constant tension,the strain of tight-jacket fiber is not changed.The strain of normal fiber is not changed under the multi-turn constant tensions.
