Abstract:
To improve the dispersion of multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs)in rubber matrix and the interfacial function between MWNTs and rubbers,MWNTs are modified by coupling agent γ-aminopropyltriethoxy silane.The MWNTs/solution styrene-butadiene rubber(SSBR)composite is prepared through mechanical mixing.The MWNTs before and after modification is characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy and thermogravimetry(TG).The influence of modified MWNTs loading on the mechanical properties,dynamic mechanical property and thermal conductivity of SSBR vulcanizates is studied.The results indicate that the optimum cure time and the scorch time of SSBR compounds decrease,the curing rate is improved and the thermal conductivity,the tensile strength and the storage modules of the MWNTs/SSBR nanocomposites are improved with the increase of the content of MWNTs.When the mass fraction of MWNTs is 15%,the tensile strength and modulus at 100% elongation of SSBR vulcanizates increase by 346% and 97% respectively.
