Abstract:
To improve the mixing efficiency,a minute magneto hydro dynamic( MHD) mixer is designed. The characteristics of the mixer are studied theoretically and experimentally. The mixer is fabricated with an ordinary brass and polycarbonate plate by the conventional machining method. The fluid used in the study is a bluestone solution. The particle image velocimetry technique is used in the experiment,and the fluorescent power is added into the solution to visualize the flowing and stirring. The experimental result is analyzed using the data acquisition and processing system. The velocity distribution of the flow field is obtained. The theoretical model of the mixer is established and a numerical simulation is done. The results are analyzed,being in good agreement with the experimental results.
