Abstract:
The electric power steering ( EPS) system control strategy is investigated to improve a minicar steering performance. The control strategy,which includes resisting control,return-to-center control and damping control,is designed; and an EPS control system model is built by using MATLAB / Simulink. The minicar with an EPS virtual model is established by MSC. ADAMS /CAR. According to the required national standards,the minicar handling and stability tests are conducted by a joint simulation. Simulation results show that the minicar equipped with the EPS achieves an excellent performance in terms of its steering effort and return ability. The EPS control system developed here improves the minicar handling ability and stability.
